Finnish forward Aleksander Barkov, who left the game against Norway with an undisclosed lower-body injury, will be out for the remainder of the Olympics.

The 18-year-old forward of the Florida Panthers will not be able to play any more games the Finnish Olympic Committee announced.

The Olympic Winter Games were the first big event for Barkov with the senior national team after having competed in two U20 and one U18 World Championship.

Barkov left his hometown team Tappara Tampere last summer for the Florida Panthers, who drafted him as second player overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

He’s the son of Alexander Barkov, who represented Russia in three IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships and was playing and coaching for several years in Tampere.
