Canada nominated Martin St-Louis to replace Steve Stamkos, who will miss the 2014 Olympic Winter Games due to injury.

Same as Stamkos, who has been out since 11th November due to a tibia fracture, St-Louis plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The application for St-Louis as late athlete replacement was submitted on Thursday. St-Louis has participated in the Olympics once, in Turin 2006, and also represented Canada in two World Championships (2008, 2009) and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
