The Russian Ice Hockey Federation has added Alexander Syomin as a replacement for injured forward Sergei Soin. The news comes following Soin’s knee injury.

Syomin, a surprise exclusion when the team’s provisional roster was announced on 7th January, represented Russia at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and has also played in five IIHF World Championships. He has 473 career points in 549 NHL games and 21 in 36 this season.
