All of the countries that hope to compete for a medal in women’s ice hockey have plenty of experience on their 21-player rosters (18 skaters, 3 goaltenders).

Incredibly, though, those rosters include a 15-year-old and a 41-year-old.

As well, the women’s tournament features four players who are set to play in their fifth Olympics. For Canada, Jayna Hefford and Hayley Wickenheiser are on the cusp of history as are Finns Emma Terho (-Laaksonen) and Karoliina Rantamaki.

Several other players have played in the first four Olympics (1998-2010) but are now retired:

CAN—Jennifer Botterill
SWE—Erika Holst, Maria Rooth, Gunilla Andersson
USA—Angela Ruggiero, Jenny Potter (-Schmidgall)
